Digital Ethnography, Web 2.0

Web 2.0 Video

A compelling view of Web 2.0
Michael Wesch, Assistant Professor of Cultural Anthropology at Kansas State University, is launching the Digital Ethnography working group at Kansas State University to examine the impacts of digital technology on human interaction. According to this Web page, "The first outcome of this work was a short video called "Web 2.0 ... The Machine is Us/ing Us." The video was released on YouTube on January 31st 2007 and quickly became the most popular video in the blogosphere." The video is fantastic and Wesch is somebody for us to pay attention to.

This video was sent to me by Cynthia McCune, who teaches another of the Journalism 163 sections. She is an excellent educator and is also somebody for us to pay attention to. Her class blog is here.
